What to do? Hustle or not?

I thought of life as a hustle-consume spectrum. On one extreme, you work 12 hours per day and run a business. On the other extreme, you self-isolate and consume content on your phone. The first extreme was the obvious choice, until I couldn't endure the schedule, and my work quality suffered. The second extreme was comfortable, but it fueled escapist behaviors and cynical thinking. When I couldn't endure the long work hours, I spent long hours on my phone. When I needed a break from overstimulation, I geared up to work long hours. I don't like either extreme, but they seem to be the only options, so I ping pong between them.

The core idea of the spectrum is a cycle of alternating work and rest. While this idea isn't 100% invalid, we should build on this idea to make it more realistic and sustainable.
